Uploaded from user swimSchwim, here is a TAS video that she selected which resonated with her after viewing one of our other user-made films:
I really liked this because of how real it is. I particularly liked this video because it describes the issues behind the their cause, what their cause is and what they’re doing about it. The video also shows the kids in real time, in real experiences and how the program works. I think this makes the video much more meaningful to the viewer.
“Poverty in America” highlights the horrific effects of poverty on American seniors, adults, and children. This short video motivates audiences to act towards helping those less fortunate and finding a solution to unemployment, homelessness, and the rising poverty epidemic through engaging and effective use of narration, music, and photography.
This film has really demonstrated what we’re all about here at Take A Stand. It is a moving and educational film that was created through a very strong community-based process. As a poignant look at the challenges for social mobility of urban youth, this film benefited by crew, writers, and cast members who were actual members (in some cases not even professionals) of the communities portrayed. The realness comes through, as well as a hope to pursue your own dreams.
